Welcome to Makenzie's Dream!

Makenzie Fest is an event dedicated to celebrating the life, values, and influence of our late daughter, Makenzie. Our festival aims to create a vibrant and uplifting experience while raising funds for scholarships to provide at-risk youth with important defensive driving courses.

On June 22nd, 2013, I received the devastating news that forever changed my life. Makenzie, my first daughter, tragically lost her life in a motor vehicle crash at the young age of 19, shortly after attending the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Her vibrant spirit, infectious laughter, and carefree nature had touched the lives of countless people around her. In her memory, we are organizing Makenzie Fest to honor her and promote the values she cherished.

Makenzie dreamed of creating her own festival, a place where people could let go of their worries and embrace the beauty of life. Now, ten years later, we are making her dream a reality.  Makenzie Fest will not only celebrate her life but also raise funds through optional donations to provide scholarships for at-risk youth to attend defensive driving courses. Our goal is to prevent the loss of more beautiful souls like Makenzie's, by equipping young drivers with essential skills and knowledge.
