Makenzie's Dream is formally known as the Peace of a Dream, a Dream of Peace Foundation. The foundation is a 501C3 foundation run by Makenzie's parents, Dave and Natalie Leikam.

The mission of the foundation is to raise money to provide defensive driving courses for at-risk youth. Having lost their daughter to a car accident in 2013, Dave and Natalie hope to prevent other parents from experiencing the same devastating loss.
